OUR PROJECTS

Foodbank

St Helens Foodbank provides a supply of emergency food. From four hubs, based in different locations throughout St. Helens, they distribute to those who are most in need.

Baby Basics

The Baby Basics Project distribute Moses Basket Starter Packs to expectant mums and families who need a little extra help when preparing for the birth of their baby.

Hope Pantry

Hope Pantry is a collaboration between Hope Centre, Your Local Pantry and Wesley Methodist Church, providing low cost food for a weekly subscription.

Hope House

Hope House is our homelessness drop in centre, located in the Town Centre. Hope House is available as a support and advocacy service to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

This foodbank is run in partnership with local churches, facilitated by The Hope Centre, St Helens.

Supporting Foodbank

St Helens Foodbank relies on donations of food items to run. These are weighed in, dated, sorted and distributed to the hubs around the town. While stocks will vary of certain items, Foodbank can accept donations of the following:

Juice, Tinned Fruit, Rice Pudding, Custard, Instant Mash, Savoury Rice Packets, Instant Noodles, Breakfast cereals, Soup, Pasta, Rice, Pasta Sauce, Tinned beans, Tinned meat, Tinned vegetables, Tinned fruit, Tea or coffee, Sugar, Biscuits, Snacks

You can also make a financial donation to the Foodbank via our Donation page.

Hope House

Hope House exists to support those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in St Helens by providing advice, advocacy and support.

Hope House is a drop in service running Monday – Friday every week and also providing Christmas holiday provision.

It provides a basic needs and personal care service for local homeless and those at risk of homelessness and offers advice, advocacy and support to support those in need. Our aim is to move our service users towards independence and help them reach their personal goals, ranging from; accessing food, personal care, benefits and accommodation.

Make Lunch

TLG Make Lunch enables and equips churches to bring hope to struggling children through holiday lunch clubs. Each club provides free, hot and healthy meals to children and families who would otherwise go hungry. Through TLG Make Lunch, your church can provide vital support to some of the most vulnerable children in your community and, in addition, build relationships with families in desperate need of the loving support of your compassionate church family.

We’ve seen that those that run Make Lunch in every context can provide a lifeline during the school holidays. Since Make Lunch began, our partners have cooked and served well over 120,000 meals in more than 100 locations across the UK. All our kitchens are run by volunteers who believe that even just one meal for one child could make a vital difference.

Baby Basics started in Sheffield in the spring of 2009, this centre continues to support families across Sheffield working with a wide range of frontline health and social care professionals. There is an ever increasing network of Baby Basics centres across the country each staffed by a committed team of volunteers.
